Welcome to PASSIONATE CARE, a place where compassion leads, care comes from the heart, and every human being is treated with the dignity they deserve. My name is Landy Santos, and this isn’t just caregiving—it’s a calling, and it began with a deeply personal journey when a close family member fell ill and lost the ability to move on his own. Caring for him opened my eyes in a way nothing else could. I realized this was more than a duty. It was a mission. From there, my journey led me to the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC), among many other place, where I had the honor of caring for patients from all walks of life. I was humbled to receive the BEE Award, a recognition given to staff who go Beyond Exceptional to care for patients.
Today, I’ve built this caregiving service not just as a business, but as a beacon for families searching for someone who will care for their loved ones as if they were their own, and for individuals who feel a similar calling and want to learn what it takes to do this work with skill, empathy, and integrity. We offer more than just assistance—we offer presence. We believe that every person deserves to live with comfort, dignity, and joy, and we’re honored to play a role in making that possible, one home, one family, and one heart at a time. With care,

It’s about seeing the person, not just the condition. Passionate care means showing up each day with love, patience, and the commitment to treat every client like family. It’s rooted in understanding, in listening deeply, and in going beyond what’s expected simply because we believe every human being deserves dignity, joy, and comfort—especially in their most vulnerable moments. This passion is what I discovered caring for my own loved one. It’s what I lived at the Vermont Medical Center. And it’s what I now pass on to every caregiver I train.

Douglas' Story: A Promise Kept, Every Single Day
Douglas has been one of my cherished clients for some time now. A quiet, thoughtful man with a deep love for a wide range of music, classic novels and science fiction. He lives alone, with no immediate family nearby to lean on. That solitude, especially in his older years, meant he needed more than just assistance, he needed someone he could rely on without question. Each morning and every evening, Douglas depends on support to get safely in and out of bed, cleaned and little house chores here and there. It might seem like a simple routine to some, but to him, it’s everything. It’s the beginning and end of his day with dignity. That’s where our personalized care plan comes in. From the very beginning, I made him a promise: “You will never be alone in this.” And I’ve kept that promise. Not a single day has gone by without me showing up , with a warm smile, and the certainty that he can count on me. Rain, snow, or sunshine, I am there. Because that consistency isn't just about care. It's about trust. More than just helping him physically, these moments have become our rituals. We talk about the band he use to be a drummer in, his favorite musics or the book he’s currently reading. He knows he’s not forgotten, not invisible. He’s seen, heard, and respected. That’s the core of passionate care, bringing presence, emotional connection, and human dignity to every interaction. And whenever he asks, “You’ll be here tonight too, right?” I always answer the same way, without hesitation: “Always, Douglas. We’re here for you. You are never alone.”
For Douglas, this isn’t just a service. It’s a lifeline. And for me, it’s an honor.
